Renewable energy sources are an alternative to traditional sources and are based on inexhaustible and environmentally friendly supply. Various controversies have been stirred up by the development of energy production from renewable sources, e.g., due to the high cost of these investments or carbon footprint at the production stage of renewable installations, or later in the disposal process. However, they seem to be gradually offset by the numerous benefits that outweigh the initial costs of their support. Therefore, it is not surprising that European Union (EU) countries are at the forefront of the transition to a low-emission economy. This is evidenced, e.g., by a 22% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in Member States, with gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 58% between 1990 and 2017. Nevertheless, the use of renewable energy sources such as sun, wind, water, etc. is much more expensive than burning fossil fuels. This argument of high investment costs can be decisive in decisions of both public debates and individual households. Therefore, education on renewable energy sources is needed to facilitate the process of transition to a zero-emission economy in the European Union countries. This education should, above all, be addressed to young people, who will be making these decisions in the future. Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 will largely depend on the knowledge and awareness of young people. The aim of the paper is to diagnose the perception of the transition to a zero-carbon economy in the opinion of Polish schoolchildren. We put a particular emphasis on renewable energy sources as a key element shaping the security of the state in terms of sustainable ecology and friendly social development. We achieved the aim of the study through a research process with use of theoretical and empirical research methods. We analysed the literature on the subject and the current legal acts in the field of renewable energy sources. We also conducted a survey of high school students in Poland. The analysis of the research results allowed us to formulate recommendations on the possibility of shaping state security in the field of sustainable ecology and friendly social development.

The purpose of the article is to describe the paradigm of philosophy of security in Poland as well as to analyse its pandemic and socio-political changes. The objectives include: establishment of approaches to philosophical interpretation of security; philosophical analysis of threats in the Polish community; conducting a survey among Polish households to study public opinion on the problem; description of the principles of further sustainable development. Within the framework of our research, a number of philosophical, historical, sociological works devoted to the problem were analysed and 40 articles that were published during the recent five years as they show the most recent data and help to formulate objectively and accurately research statements were selected. This research applied the mixed-methods approach, and both quantitative and qualitative data was collected through descriptive and experimental survey. The research was conducted in three stages: preliminary (June-September, 2020), main (between 2020 and 2022), and final (October-November, 2022). The experimental survey involved 346 Polish households nationwide. The data revealed the understanding of security among the Polish residents and helped draw the paradigm on the basis of public opinion. The results showed that security is interpreted through traditional and modern theories using ontological, gnoseological, axiological, praxeological, methodological, and anthropological approaches. Also, security is translated from the objective and subjective aspects. The definitions of security can be divided into four groups on the basis of similar characteristics. The Polish understanding of security is based on the concept that security is the highest, absolute, and eternal value for humanity. The components of national security of Poland are internal, external and international. The paradigm of philosophy of security in Poland is realised in macro-, mezzo-, and microlevel on the basis of principles of sustainable development considering pandemic and socio-political changes in Poland. The paradigm can be used to build secure environment in the country.

Biological analysis using a luminometer of surfaces intended for preparing meals

The aim of the study was the microbiological analysis using a luminometer of surfaces intended for food preparation in mass catering establishments. Four production stations were selected for the research (cutting and portioning cold meats, processing vegetables, processing raw meat, and the serving line). In addition, samples were taken from the hands of the meal prep staff at those workstations. The biological contamination was measured using a 3MTM Clean-TraceTM NGi mobile Luminometer with a set of 3M reagents. The hygiene status (RLU) of working surfaces and hands at different kitchen stations was compared. The values of RLU measurements taken from the surface of the hands working on the cured meat cutting and portioning station differed significantly from the values obtained from the surface of the hands working on the food serving station (p < 0.05). A similar relationship was found when comparing the RLU values for the working area of both of these stations.
