Investigation of LINC00342 as a poor prognostic biomarker for human patients with non–small cell lung cancer

Abstract: Cyclic long noncoding RNAs have recently become major players in cancer biology and can serve as biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and prognosis, and as potential therapeutic targets. We explored circulating LINC00342 as a predictor of non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The expression of LINC00342 in tissues, serum, PBMC, and NSCLC cell lines were screened by reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction. A multistage validation and risk score formula detection analysis was used. The effect of LI… Show more

“…LINC00342, a novel lncRNA located on chromosome 2q11.1, was upregulated in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and infantile hemangiomas [12,13]. High expression of LINC00342 predicted a poor prognosis in NSCLC [14]. Knockdown of LINC00342 inhibited NSCLC cell proliferation, migration and invasion [15].…”

“…MiRNAs and lncRNAs can be detected in biological fluids through a biopsy of liquids, such as whole blood (lncRNA metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (MALAT1) [141] and miRNA-182-5p [142]), serum (lncRNA linc00342 [143], MEG3 [144], miR-96 [145] and miR-30a-5p [146]), plasma (lncRNA linc00152 [147], MALAT1 [148], miR-145 [149], miR-30b [150], miR-25 [151] and miR-425-3p [152]), sputum (lncRNA HOTAIR, H19 [153], miR-21 and miR-210 [154]), and pleural effusion (MALAT1 [155] and miR-200 family [156]) in lung cancer. Furthermore, miRNAs can also be found in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (miR-126 and miR-Let-7a [157]).…”
