Investigation of structures in the Alabanda Bouleuterion by electrical resistivity method

Abstract: The workspace as Bouleuterion (parliament house) is located in the ancient city of Alabanda far approximately 7 km from Aydin, Çine. The works on the city plan are still continued by the Department of Archeology in Adnan Menderes University. In this work, a geophysical study based on electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) approach is used to bring out the existence of the buried structures and situations of ruins in Bouleuterion. This study is a good example of implementation of the electrical resistivity met… Show more

“…Elektrik rezistivite yönteminde, yüzeydeki spesifik elektrot dizilimleri (dipol-dipol, Wenner vb.) kullanılarak yeraltı özdirenç dağılımını belirlemeye yönelik ölçümler yapılmaktır [1]. Bu ölçümlerden elde edilen özdirenç verileri genellikle 2 boyutlu (2B) yapay (pseudo) kesit haritaları olarak görselleştirilir.…”

“…Thus, very successful results mainly via integrated usage of geophysical prospection techniques have been obtained in studies conducted in the ancient age urban areas in Anatolia, which are now serving cultural and heritage tourism. Some of them includes Aizanoi (Küçükdemirci, Özer, Piro, Baydemir, & Zamuner, ), Alabanda (Karavul, Karaaslan, & Demirkol, ), Amorium (Kaya, Ekinci, Yiğit, & Lightfoot, ; Ekinci, Balkaya, Şeren, Kaya, & Lightfoot, ), Hierapolis (Negri & Leucci, ; Nuzzo, Leucci, & Negri, ), Metropolis (Özyalın, Balkaya, & Erhan, ), Nysa (Kadioglu, Kadioglu, & Kadioglu, ; Yalçiner et al, ), Parion (Ekinci et al, ; Ekinci & Kaya, ), Sagalassos (e.g. Dirix, Muchez, Degryse, Mušič, & Poblome, ), Sardis (Drahor, ), Satala (Drahor, Kurtulmuş, Berge, Hartmann, & Speidel, a), and Zeugma (Drahor, Berge, Kurtulmuş, Hartmann, & Speidel, b).…”
