<em>Drilling activity has been focused in time on each activity to reach target depth (TD) immediately and efficient in cost. The priority also aimed to Geothermal drilling by doing specific measurement on Invisible Lost Time (ILT) as new focus to perform. Time becomes main aspect which it would affect the cost, therefore it is important to complete the well in time manner. The research was done to analyze the offset well of well A, B, C and D in order to identify Productive Time and Non Productive Time. Key Performance Indicator (KPI) has been identified from each activity also targeted from two wells of well B dan Well D due to time efficiency used during operation. The method used by comparing offset wells then continue to identify each KPI by measuring each activity based on ASCII time and Daily Drilling Report (DDR). The result from offset wells showed inefficiency in time with Flat time 49%, Drilling 42% and non-flat time (NPT) 9% from 28 days without completion. KPI based on the crew performance has confirmed that day shift crew performed better than night shift crew. KPI on rate of penetration (ROP) on day shift crew at 6 m/hr and night crew at 3 m/hr. KPI on Weight to Weight on day shift crew at 28.43 minute/stand faster than night shif crew at 34.65 minute/stand. KPI on Tripping in cased hole on day shift crew at 4.5 minute/stand faster than night crew shift at 4.6 minute/stand. KPI on Tripping in open hole on day shift crew at 2.7 minute/stand faster than night shift crew at 3.7 minute/stand. KPI on Tripping out open hole on day shift crew at 3.0 minute/stand slower than night shift crew at 2.8 minute/stand. KPI on Tripping out cased hole on day shift crew at 3.36 minute/stand faster than night crew shift at 3.74 minute/stand. ILT from both wells to 20 % or 5 days inefficiency on each well. It detects of potential savings to 10 billion rupiah from both wells.</em>

This presentation demonstrates further development of efficient primary and secondary emulsifiers for invert emulsion (oil-based) drilling fluids. These primary and secondary emulsifiers were developed from two separate refinery side streams of crude tall oil (CTO). Due to the high degree of compositional variation in these selected side streams, they were not historically considered for product development. We managed the composition variation challenge by setting precise specifications and connecting aspects of product composition with desired performance in the drilling fluid application. These side streams were derivatized under engineered reaction conditions to develop the efficient primary and secondary emulsifiers without compromising performance. Overall, detailed testing was performed to determine the emulsifier performance in different base oils (mineral oil and diesel), at different mud weights (12 – 16 ppg), at elevated temperatures, and in different fluid systems characterized by rheology and high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) fluid loss. Physical properties including product viscosity and pour points were also determined. The developed efficient primary and secondary emulsifiers performed on par or outperformed the industry-available emulsifiers tested in this study. The efficient primary emulsifier demonstrated lower pour points and lower product viscosity as compared to the industry standards tested in this study. A new field application of this efficient primary emulsifier in the U.S. will be presented. On the other hand, the secondary emulsifier provided stable rheology with improved controlled fluid loss as compared to the industry standards in both conventional and polymer fluids. The emulsifier package of the developed efficient primary and secondary emulsifiers provided stable fluids in various fluid systems which were composed of different viscosifiers and fluid loss additives (FLAs). The efficient primary and secondary emulsifiers were developed from highly variable raw materials. The physical properties of the primary emulsifier present it as a valued candidate for cold climate since it's easy to handle. The efficient secondary emulsifier can provide stable rheology with controlled fluid loss. The emulsifier package gave comparable performance across different fluid systems. This manuscript is a continuation of our previous research (Maghrabi et al. 2018).

Summary The drilling industry is striving to be more efficient, reducing time, costs, and emissions to provide energy solutions for a more climate-conscious world. Reducing nonproductive time (NPT) and invisible lost time (ILT) by utilizing modeling software to optimize tripping operations is one method to combat this. Additional factors such as sea heave have a significant impact on tripping operations on semisubmersible drilling vessels, which do not show a linear response to increased heave. These vessels have compensation systems, but they are often not in use or not completely accurate. Typical heave experienced in the North Sea is between 0.5 and 3-m amplitude and 10–30-second heave period. In this study, transient modeling software is used to create a digital twin of the wellbore to safely predict the tripping speed and define the effect heave has on the tripping operations, from causing additional swab and surge pressures when in or out of slips to reducing tripping speed and improving efficiency by reducing mud gelling at connections. To further understand the effect heave has on tripping operations, experimental simulations of varying heave magnitude were completed in wellbore sections of 0°, 30°, 60°, and 90° inclination. Model validation was completed before running simulations. The results indicate that in horizontal holes, low heave magnitudes result in no bit or pressure response. The same cannot be said for vertical wells, which show smooth bit movement and pressure response throughout the heave magnitude spectrum. However, in a horizontal hole when the wave height is of a larger magnitude, sufficient to break wellbore friction, bit displacement is observed to display jerky axial stick and slip movement, and resultant increased swab and surge pressures are shown even when accounting for the reduced pressure fluctuations due to string eccentricity in an inclined wellbore. It is proposed that much of the related mechanical and pressure response is due to the properties of the drilling mud, string elasticity, and the forced frequency of the waves on the natural frequency of the drilling rig and drillstring. It is clear from definitive and experimental simulations that extra care must be taken when the heave is significant to maintain wellbore stability and reduce wellbore pressure cycling.
