Purpose The purpose of this paper is to scrutinize the marketing orientation and market-oriented cultural elements of integrated Islamic schools. These integrated schools teach modern science curriculum alongside comprehensive religious instruction in an Islamic environment. Design/methodology/approach This is an inductive, exploratory research from an interpretivist study. Narrative inquiry was undertaken to understand the perceptions, attitudes and actions of school senior management and teachers. Content analysis of the school websites and social media pages was carried out. In total, 7 schools and 16 respondents became part of the purposive sample. Findings The presence of several integrated Islamic schools, experienced Islamic education leadership and Islamic education consultants are evidence of a growing sector. The schools are technologically enabled, strongly customer-oriented and adept at inter-functional coordination. The need-gap found in this sector is in competitor orientation, curriculum development and recruitment of specific criteria-based staff. Practical implications With the mushrooming of integrated Islamic schools in Pakistan, the level of competition has also risen. The schools have made a considerable investment and strives to maintain and increase the enrollment rate of the institute. This research can enlighten integrated Islamic educators about effective education marketing practices and the prevalence of marketing orientation in such schools. Originality/value In Pakistan, private primary schools strive to differentiate themselves and competitively position their value proposition. The marketization of education has begun to affect perceptions of school staff, teachers, students and academic work itself. Yet, there is scarce exploratory research on marketing done by integrated Islamic primary schools. This study will contribute foundational work for the development of a holistic marketing model tailored to the requirements of integrated Islamic schools.

Historically, religion along with the culture and civilization have always advanced in accordance with one another. Undoubtedly, development of culture without that of religion is not possible. Therefore, this amalgamation and inter-dependence of religion as well as culture is the fundamental crux of Muslim cultural and moral view of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal. For Muhammad Iqbal, most significant element in the life of Muslims is its culture and moral values. For the development of Muslim society among the entire globe, Iqbal focused mainly on culture and morality, instead of political and economic influence of the state. Though, Iqbal had a deep insight about the western view, still he formulated his though in accordance with the guidance provided by Quran and Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa SAWW. As, in the modern-day world, morality of the individuals is based entirely upon their own choices and orthodox preconceptions. Furthermore, morality is dependent upon the culture also it seems to be conservative in the context of modern era. The followers of traditions are at conflict with the followers of modernization and considers them to be fundamentalists. However, the traditionalists are aware of this fact that their system of value is resilient against any sudden change. However, the trends and fashions of the modern age thought not completely inaccurate transmits within the generations. This review paper thus mainly focuses on exploring the philosophy of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal about the culture of Muslims along with their morality. Also, it would cornerstone the contemporary situations of the Muslim world under the influence of Iqbal’s philosophy. Though it does not determine the constitutional factors of cultures and traits of Muslim society however, it is an attempt to exhibit the critical appraisal of Dr. Iqbal about the nature of culture of Muslims as well as the fundamental ideologies which are motivating, inspiring, and directing the Muslim societies in their pursuit of moral values and culture.

This study aims to describe the implementation or application of the 'Sekolah Sak Ngajine' Program as a habit of loving the Qur'an from an early age in RA Khodijah II Sebaung, Gending District. The 'Sekolah Sak Ngajine' program is taken from the Javanese language, which means School While Reciting the Qur'an. This habituation program is packaged in Qur'an learning activities using the Tilawati method. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the type of case study. This study found that the 'Sekolah Sak Ngajine' program can condition the tendency of the world of children to be active and challenging to concentrate so that the quality and quantity targets can be achieved well in learning the Qur'an. Through the 'Sekolah Sak Ngajine' program, it can have a tremendous impact on students, namely instilling the habit of learning the Qur'an to students so that they can foster a sense of love for the Qur'an from an early age in RA Khodijah II Sebaung, Gending District, Probolinggo Regency. The implication is that learning the Qur'an in early childhood requires creativity, patience, and patience from teachers in teaching.
