Follow-up was until 12 wks after delivery Vogel 1963 191 consecutive pregnant when attending antenatal care clinics and at 32 wks of gestation were divided in two groups by alternate allocation by clinic: group 1 received 140 mg of elemental iron daily (as ferrous gluconate) in four tablets; group 2 received 150 mg elemental iron daily (as ferrous glutamate) in 3 tablets.
