Throughout history, many sports evolved from rituals performed at religious celebrations. In this light, it is clear that religion and sport are symbolic systems with shared values and goals. This study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the descriptive parameters of publications by visualizing citation patterns, extracting author keywords, and determining the impact and performance of research on religion and sports. An examination of 1,408 publications indexed in the Scopus and WoS databases was carried out from 1899 to 2022. The results show that after 2015, there was a considerable increase in sports and religion publications, with Scopus publications continuing to increase compared to WoS. The United States accounts for about 457 of the total global publications. Furthermore, with 19 documents, the title of the scientific source "Games and Economic Behavior" is the most active. In 170 documents, the keyword "physical activity" appears most frequently in this analysis. The trending topic with the largest absolute growth is "physical activity," while the trending topic with the largest relative growth is "osteoarthritis." Overall, the research in this field is evolving, with the development of new methodologies and channels for communicating vital lessons about values, culturally appropriate behaviour, and health scope. This study contributes to developing new concepts in the multidisciplinary study of the relationship between sport and religion. The significance of religious values in physical activity and in injuries suffered by athletes, as well as in the psychological development of athletes, is one area that can be studied in more depth.

The sports industry has been one of the most negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This bibliometric analysis aims to analyze the characteristics of the literature on sports activities during COVID-19 published in the Scopus database. Year of publication, type of publication, publication stage, language, country, institution, scientific source, author, and keywords are used as parameters in the analysis of sports activities and Covid-19. A thorough examination of 1480 documents from 2020 to 2023 (as of June 23, 2022) revealed four were issued and 1476 were analysed. According to the findings, the most publications occurred in 2021, with 805 documents. United States became the most active country with a total of 302 documents. With 160 documents, the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health was the most productive scientific source. The most common type of article documents (n = 1,116, 75,61%) Publication status: final (n = 1374, 93.08%). Most types of sources are journals (n = 1,449, 98.17%). There is a wide gap in the productivity of publications in the field of sports activities during the COVID-19 pandemic between countries with strong and large sports traditions and countries with developing sports traditions.

The study purpose was to look into the production of scientific publications on the Philosophy of Sports and Physical Education. Materials and methods. Scopus and Web of Science databases and various bibliometric indicators such as global publication trends, most active authors, number of citations, and author keywords were used to collect publications. Results. A total of 1103 publications on the philosophy of sport and physical education were found from 1981 to 2021. This review used data in comma-separated values (CSV) format for Scopus, which was then exported to Microsoft Excel and text documents in WoS format, as well as ScientoPy software. The research findings provide information that, from 1981 to 2021, publications experienced a fluctuating trend in quantity. Starting in 2016, publications have reached double digits, with the number of publications reaching 71 documents. The United States is listed as the most productive country with a number of published documents as high as 226 academic scientific works. Ryall, E., University of Gloucestershire, United Kingdom, became the most prolific author with a total of 33 publications. The Department of Philosophy in the United States is at the forefront of publications with 39 documents. Conclusions. A number of limitations in this study are unavoidable. First, the research method used by researchers is not completely perfect, including how to find documents, categorize documents, and document provider databases, which cannot be ignored. Researchers believe that this scientometric research provides important information about future research directions in the philosophy of sport and physical education.
