<p>Reading is one of the cultures in society that tends to be abandoned along with the rapid development of information technology as children nowadays tend to choose something practical as a medium for finding information. Therefore, to improve the latest learning methods through digital media, character-based literacy comics become the main choice in building positive educational values among elementary school students. This study aims to produce character-based comic media, determine the feasibility and effectiveness of character-based comic media on the development of character education for fourth-grade elementary school students. This research used development research consisting of some stages, namely: research and data collection, planning, product draft development, expert validation, expert-based revision, limited trials, improvement of the product of limited trial results, field trials, improvement of the final product, and product dissemination. The subjects of this study were the fourth-grade students of the Koran Elementary School (SDQu) i.e. 26 students consisting of 6 students for limited trials and 20 students for field trials. The results of this study show that: (1) character-based comic media was produced in thematic-integrative learning, (2) the developed comic media were viewed in terms of the quality aspects of media aspects and material aspects from the experts, the teacher, and the results of students’ responses were categorized very well , and (3) comic media developed effectively increased the value of student character in the learning process.<strong></strong></p>
There is a correlation between the concept of public relations with the cultural activities of Jakhu Suku. The relationship is built through the behavior of Jakhu Suku communications in the tradition of giving a title that always emphasises the planning and evaluation stage. This is what lies behind this study with a locus of cultural research with a public relations theory approach. To answer the purpose of research, interviews and observation were used by involving all customary devices in the Village Banjar Negeri Lampung Province Indonesia. The study found that the behavior of Jakhu Suku communications in carrying out cultural activities begins with pekhsiapan (preparation), khencana (planning), lestakhi (execution), penghengok (support) and penghanggum (trust). All the Jakhu Suku cultural concepts are relevant to the communication planning components including Insight, Strategic Programs, Implementation Programs, Action, and Reputation (the IPPAR model). The Jakhu Suku culture can be referred to as a component of cultural-based public relations communication behavior. This component can be applied in the context of corporate, government and nongovernment public relations. Public relations companies and governments are profit-oriented, while non-government-based nonprofits such as culture are found in community groups or communities. The communication behavior component of the IPPAR model can be classified as a component of ethnography public relations. The methodology focuses on culture-based public relations communication behavior.
Abstract. Management of watersheds becomes part of a government program. This was conducted to anticipate the floods that hit the settlement. But the program is hard to do without the active role of the community, therefore the communication activities were undertaken based on local wisdom. The purpose of this paper is to find out about the environmental communication based on local wisdom in the Citarum Watershed. The method used is in the form of interviews and participant observation. As for the results obtained are: local wisdom is utilized by the environment actuator in the Citarum watershed management in the form of the proverb, rituals, and the environment preservation. Local wisdom by the environment actuator is meant as a way in, and domain in conducting environmental communication. In addition, local wisdom considered by the environment actuator as the ethic to be met in interacts with the target communities. Implementation of environmental communication activities with local wisdom based on the Citarum is done through a personal approach to some of the social and religious figures by using the communication channels of the group in the forum -the farmers group, majelis ta'lim, and community empowerment, which proceeds in a dialogical way to reach mutual agreement based on mutual trust among the participants of the environmental communication
