Abstract

Essential oils often have pharmacological effects and therapeutic results. They are complex mixtures of substances (mainly monoterpenes) extracted from aromatic plants. Among these effects, we can highlight antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, analgesic activity, among others. Isopulegol (ISO) is a monoterpene alcohol, present in essential plant oils, such as Corymbia citriodora H .; Zanthoxylum schinifolium L. and Melissa officinalis L., these are used in folk medicine as antispasmodic, surgical dressing for wounds, and sedative / hypnotic, memory enhancement and stress-induced headache
