Isothermal vapor-liquid equilibrium data for ether + glycol, chloroalkene + glycol, epoxy ether + alkane, epoxy ether + alkene, and epoxy ether + chloroalkane systems

Abstract: A Dvorak-Boublik equilibrium recirculation apparatus has been used to measure isothermal vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for 10 different binary systems: diisopropyl ether + 2-methoxyethanol, trichloroethylene + 2-methoxyethanol, 1,2-epoxybutane + n-hexane, 1,2-epoxyhexane + n-heptane, 1,2-epoxybutane + n-heptane, 1,2-epoxybutane + 1-hexene, 1,2-epoxybutane + 1-octene, 1,2-epoxybutane + 1-chlorobutane, 1,2-epoxybutane + 2-chlorobutane, and epichlorohydrin (l-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane) + 2-chlorobutane. “…The values of the vapor pressure P°i of pure components were fitted to the Clausius-Clapeyron equation. The parameters A and B are listed in Table 3 with their correlation coefficients R and standard deviations σ(P°i); our values agree with those of the literature (Smith and Srivastava, 1986;Jo ´nasson et al, 1994) within the limits of the experimental errors.…”

“…Our values agree with those of the literature (Cocero et al, 1989;Jo ´nasson et al, 1994), within the limits of experimental errors. The VLE data are reported in Table 3 while the P-x 1 -y 1 plots are graphically represented in Figure 1.…”

“…Our static vapor pressure data are consistent with ebulliometric data by Steele et al, 44 which we also consider the most precise, so the other sets were excluded from the correlation. A few data points by Jonasson et al 43 and Carmona et al 46 obtained during VLE measurements are consistent with Steele et al, 44 so they were also included in the correlation. Their inclusion however does not have a significant impact on the final correlation.…”
