“…Pruritus has been suggested to be an important mediator of improvements in both disease severity and HRQoL . Specifically, pruritus seems to be an important mediator of the DLQI domains that assess symptoms and feelings, treatment satisfaction, work and school function, daily activities and leisure.…”

“…Pruritus, especially CP, is well-known for having a severely negative impact on a patient's QoL (20)(21)(22). We utilized several questions on important aspects of QoL instead of elaborated QoL scores, such as DLQI (23) and ItchyQol (24), as these are rather complex and long.…”

“…Despite this and considering its ease of use, VAS can be considered as an extremely efficient tool to measure itch intensity and potential impact on quality of life, irrespective of other factors that define the symptom. This was recently confirmed in another clinical trial related to psoriasis treatment demonstrating that improvement of HRQoL (assessed via DLQI) is mainly mediated by VAS improvement [23]. For itch intensity assessment VAS was selected, as it is currently the most commonly used, validated and monodimensional tool in self-reporting itch intensity.…”
