“…To gain magnetically functional new properties, presumably the AFM order, allowing Bose-Einstein (BE) coupling and, eventually, respective condensation (BEC, or quasi-BEC, vide supra), the modified structure should attain some special configuration implying essential re-hybridization of 3d x2−y2 and 2p xy orbitals of copper and four surrounding oxygen entities, respectively. The distinct kinds of domains, tetragonal units termed as 'plaquettes' , first were proposed by Zhang and Rice [83] to be essentially basic sub-structures for the 2D constituent cuprate layers within high-temperature superconducting materials (exhibiting strong AFM order that is well-known to interplay with the HTSC), see also [84][85][86][87][88][89][90][91] and figure 3(a) for the schematic illustration. The Zhang-Rice-type plaquette domains may provide the abovementioned d-p delocalization of holes (for the starting oxidized Au/L-Cys/Cu 2+ configuration) and, presumably, electrons (implying the follow-up reduced Au/L-Cys/Cu + configuration).…”
