“…His autobiographical narrative ends with the declaration of the purpose of constructing an adequate philo-sophical foundation for scientifi c psychology, in continuity with the scholastic tradition. Although he was unable to achieve his aim, the relevance of Fröbes, as stated by Misiak and Staudt (1954), was to assume, in Germany, as well as D. Mercier in Belgium, the role of integrating psychology into the Catholic world with experimental psychology (vetera cum novis coniungere). The two historians highlighted the important role played by the Compendium of Experimental Psychology, by espousing the universal acceptance of this area as a separate and independent science, encouraging Catholics to study it.…”
