“…Our evaluations must be comprehensive (American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, 1999;Caldwell et al, 2008;Rich, 2009;Righthand & Welch, 2001), and comprehensive evaluations require multiple measures and methods and holistic assessment that consider not only the individual before us, but also the social context in which they live, i.e., family, peers, school, and community (Grisso, 1998;Melton, Petrila, Poythress, & Slobogin, 2007;Rich, 2009;Righthand, Kerr, & Drach, 2003). Assessments must be individualized and provide specific treatment recommendations to enable effective interventions that may reduce the risk of sexual and non-sexual offending (Andrews & Bonta, 2003;Melton et al, 2007) and promote healthy, pro-social development among our youth.…”
