Abstract

ÖZEkonomik sınırların ortadan kalkması ile küçük pazar paylarında dahi yoğun bir biçimde hissedilen rekabet, kaynakların etkin ve verimli kullanımı ile avantaja dönüşebilecektir. MEASURING EFFICIENCIES OF THE FIRMS IN PAPER SECTOR BY USING DATA ENVELOPMENT ANALYSIS ABSTRACTCompetition, had been feeling deeply even in small market shares because of disappearing economic boundaries, can be turned into advantage by using sources efficiently and productively. Competition advantage depends on manufacturing more output by using lesser input and using it efficiently. The aim of the study is to compare 16 firms in Paper and Paper Products, Printing and Publishing Industry, publicly traded in İMKB, with Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Input and output variables using in analysis were chosen among financial ratios, which have been using in common. As a result of the study, applied by using data of 2012, average efficiency score of sector was determined as 60.8% and HÜRRİYET, KOZA, DURAN DOĞAN and DENTAŞ use their sources precisely efficient and they were determined as reference firms. Required potential development ratios were calculated in order that the firms can be efficient and necessary suggestions were offered.
