North Semarang District is one of the areas that is often affected by tidal floods. This study will discuss flood distribution through tidal flood susceptibility mapping and identify adaptations. The first step is to carry out flood susceptibility mapping using DEMNAS data and sea tides. The second stage is to determine the key areas based on the tidal flood susceptibility map made. Key areas are useful for identifying forms of community adaptation to tidal floods through data collection in the form of observations and interviews. The mapping results show that the flood susceptibility area reaches 582.89 Ha or around 50% of the area of North Semarang District. The key areas with high susceptibility are settlements on Jalan Tambakrejo, Tanjungmas Village and it is known that the community responds by adapting patterns to changes in physical infrastructure, economic activity, and social development.

Kampung Dalam Bugis is an area in Pontianak City located in the Kapuas River and the Landak River branch. This area is a kampung and settlement that marked the establishment of Pontianak City. Kampung Dalam Bugis Village is located on the bank of a river, impacting flood disaster vulnerability. Therefore, it is necessary to study the correlation between the physical characteristics of the house and the level of socio-economic vulnerability. This study aims to analyze the correlation between the physical characteristics of the houses and the level of socio-economic vulnerability at the riverbanks. The analysis used to assess socio-economic vulnerability is scoring from data collected from interviews and filling out questionnaires. The study used to determine the relationship between the house's physical characteristics to indicators of socio-economic vulnerability is chi-square. The assessment of the community's socio-economic vulnerability on the banks of the Kapuas River consists mostly of high vulnerability classes. Chi-square analysis shows that indicators of socio-economic vulnerability such as the head of the family's educational level have a relationship to the house's characteristics, such as the type of house and the area of the house. This initial research still needs to be developed, such as using logistic regression analysis. There is more vital evidence that the information can be used as a basis for determining or at least as a validator for indicators of socio-economic vulnerability. Physical information of the house is easier to find data through observation and even image interpretation.

The development of Pontianak begins from the influence of the existence of the Kapuas River and its tributaries. The river used to be a space for community activities, with many houses and villages built based on their proximity to the river. The settlement grew to fill the land on the banks of Kapuas River first until they spread to its tributaries. This research aims to identify the typology of settlement development in riverside communities in Pontianak from time to time. This research employed a qualitative method with a comparative study. The researcher collected secondary data in the form of a map of the condition of settlements in Pontianak from time to time obtained from the historical records of Pontianak. Then, the data were compared and analyzed to obtain a typology of settlement development in the riverside communities in Pontianak. The study’s results, namely the typology of settlements on the riverbanks in Pontianak, revealed the settlements that follow the structure of the riverbanks, ditch canals, and the settlements that lead to land roads. This can happen because of an increase in the number of people every year, accessibility range, and economic movement factors.
