Not all fruit flies species of Dacini tribe were pests to fruit and fleshy vegetables. CentralBangka Regency is one of the citrus producer in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. Information about this fruit flies in this area was limited. This study aimed to make inventory and identification of fruit flies species of the Dacini tribe in Central Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung. The research was conducted in Nibung, Penyak, and Terentang Villages in Central Bangka Regency, Bangka Islands. Lynfield traps were installed in a citrus cultivation area about 1.5 m above ground level. Lynfield traps were treated with the attractant and deltamethrin (2: 1; v / v) on dental cotton. Methyl eugenol and cue lure were used to attract the male fruit flies. In Central Bangka Regency, 3 genera and 14 species of fruit flies were obtained from the tribe Dacini. The fruit fly species of Bactrocera atrifemur, B. carambolae, B. dorsalis, B. occipitalis, and B. umbrosa were caught in the methyl eugenol attractant trap. Meanwhile, the fruit fly species of B. albistrigata, B. fuscitibia, B. melastomatos, B. neocognata, B. nigrotibialis, Dacus nanggalae, Zeugodacus apicalis, Z. caudatus, and Z. cucurbitae were caught in the cue lure attractant trap. The fruit flies obtained from the two different attractants were used to develop dichotomous keys.

Fruit flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) are pests of several horticultural crops that can reduce the quality and quantity of fruit production. Information on fruit flies in Lombok Island, Indonesia, is still limited. However, it is predicted to have a high diversity of fruit flies because this island belongs to the Wallacea region. The aims of this research was to study the diversity and species composition of fruit flies in different habitat types in Lombok Island. The research was carried out on two habitat types, i.e., tropical rainforest and orchard with each habitat type consisted of three different sites that located spread across Lombok Island as replication. The research was carried out on two habitat types, i.e., tropical rainforest and orchard, with each habitat type consisted of three different sites spread across Lombok Island as replication. A sampling of fruit flies was conducted using parapheromone traps from March to June 2020. Twenty-two species and 210,267 individual fruit flies were collected from all locations during the study period. The most dominant species were Bactrocera carambolae, Bactrocera limbifera, Zeugodacus caudatus, and Bactrocera dorsalis. Based on the ANOVA, habitat types significantly affected the abundance but not the species richness of fruit flies. The visualization results obtained from the NMDS ordination indicated a difference in the species composition of fruit flies between the two habitats. In conclusion, habitat types are an essential factor in shaping the community of fruit flies in Lombok Island.

The fruit fly Bactrocera spp. is the main pest other than Thrips in red chilies, which can reduce plant productivity by 30-60%, so that a specific method of handling this pest is needed. This study examines the application of conventional and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to fruit fly populations in red chili cultivation (Capsicum annuum). Observation of fruit fly population used the comparative method with methyl eugenol traps and incubation of infected fruit. Determination of the research sample based on purposive sampling method and analyzed using descriptive analysis. The test parameters were the fruit fly population indicated by the host's density and hosts' availability in the applied IPM and conventional treatments. The results showed that the fruit fly species encountered were dominated by B. dorsalis with a percentage of 98.18% and B. carambola 1.82%. The fruit fly population's fluctuation in IPM and conventional treatments were significantly different, as evidenced by a one-way variance test at a significance level of 99%. The population of fruit flies in the IPM concept was 547 flies, while the conventional concept was 1546 flies. The percentage of fruit fly population in red chili plants with IPM treatment was 48% smaller than conventional treatments.
