Objective: This study focused on environmental education in children using the 3R method (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) through the animated series Boboiboy.
Theoretical framework: The impartation of environmental education to the youth from an early age holds paramount significance. By nurturing environmental consciousness during childhood, individuals are more inclined towards adopting sustainable practices in adulthood.
Methods: The study used a qualitative method by analyzing Boboiboy's animated content from a three-episode "Jagalah Bumi". Conversations from several characters in this animated series are analyzed as study text as the main data.
Result and Discussion: Based on this analysis, it was found that this animation successfully outlined the concept of 3R in three episodes of "Take Care of the Earth", including showcasing the solid waste management process carried out at the landfill. Although 3R practices and solid waste management are two big issues for children to digest, the use of animations such as Boboiboy has been found to provide an overview of the concept and implementation and positive effects of connecting well.
Implications of the Research: The incorporation of 3R practices in animations like this tries to influence and leave an impression on Malaysian children indirectly so that they value the environment more and do not pollute the earth.
Originality/Value: This study directly gives a general awareness of the importance of environmental care. This awareness needs to be nurtured from childhood so that they grow up understanding the value and importance of the environment.
