Curriculum viability, teaching competence, and effective instruction are paramount in advancing Philippine education. This study examined the combined influence of curriculum viability and teaching competencies on effective instruction among teachers in the Davao region. Three selected schools in the Davao region were involved, and 100 teachers responded to the survey. The research design utilized a quantitative-nonexperimental approach with descriptivecorrelational and regression analysis. The results indicated a high level of curriculum viability, suggesting that the implemented K to 12 curriculum in the Davao region is well-designed, aligned with quality standards, and provides relevant and challenging learning targets. Additionally, the study revealed a high level of teaching competencies among the teachers, indicating that they possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and beliefs to deliver effective instruction and create a positive learning environment. Furthermore, the findings demonstrated that teachers perceived effective instruction as high. They effectively established a positive learning environment, set clear and shared outcomes, employed varied instructional methods and materials, fostered complex thinking and transfer, and provided practice and feedback. The regression analysis confirmed that curriculum viability and teaching competencies significantly influenced effective instruction. This highlights the importance of considering curriculum viability and promoting teacher competencies to enhance instructional practices. This study provides valuable insights into the combined influence of curriculum viability and teaching competencies on effective instruction among teachers in the Davao region. The findings underscore the significance of these factors in promoting quality education in the Philippines.

El propósito de este estudio fue diseñar y validar instrumentos de medición para las variables conocimiento, convicción y compromiso de los padres respecto de un sistema educativo confesional. A través de un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia, se realizó una prueba piloto donde fueron seleccionados 101 padres, con hijos en edad escolar de nivel primario y medio en escuelas que pertenecen a una sección del noreste de México. Para los análisis estadísticos se usó el análisis factorial exploratorio, con una extracción de factorización de ejes principales y una rotación equamax. Al analizar los resultados del estudio, se determinó que los tres instrumentos refieren una varianza explicada aceptable: (a) conocimiento (σ2 = 76.38%), (b) convicción (σ2 = 83.35%) y (c) compromiso (σ2= 65.08%). El coeficiente de confiabilidad, medido por el alfa de Cronbach, reveló un elevado grado de consistencia interna total para las variables convicción (α = .976), conocimiento (α = .969) y compromiso (α = .889). Como conclusión, se infiere que los instrumentos propuestos son válidos para valorar el grado de conocimiento, convicción y compromiso por parte de los padres respecto de un sistema educativo confesional.

Introduction. The article deals with the problem of preparing specialists of the preschool education system for future professional activity in the process of studying at higher school. The authors present the basic concept for the creation and implementation of the main stages of the program for the formation of psychological readiness among students of preschool education for professional communication with all subjects of the educational process. The modular principle of designing a program based on the main components of the structure of psychological readiness is discussed, and the need to increase the practical training of future teachers of preschool education is noted. Materials and Methods. The research used: theoretical methods: analysis of scientific publications, psychological and pedagogical literature; synthesis and interpretation, method of generalization and systematization of information, modeling of the process of formation of psychological readiness for professional communication; empirical research methods: psychological and pedagogical experiment, testing, direct and indirect observation, proximetric techniques; data analysis methods: methods of mathematical statistics, quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results. Results. The authors substantiate and concretize the scientific and theoretical foundations, approaches and principles, organizational, psychodidactic and psychological-pedagogical conditions, present a detailed approbation of the program, assess the dynamics of the formation of psychological readiness for professional communication among future teachers of preschool education. The program allows undergraduate students to consistently master general cultural and general psychological communicative competencies; skills, abilities, actions of planning, designing, building, accumulating individual experience of interpersonal and professional communication with different subjects of the educational process; building personalized communication models with different target groups and subjects of education; to form the initial style of professional communication of the future teacher, his value-semantic, a substantial and structural-organizationaloutline. Discussion and Conclusions. The performed research has shown the need and possibility of systematic and systematic formation of psychological readiness for professional communication among students of preschool education in the process of studying at a university. The psychological readiness of students of preschool education has its own characteristics and correlates with the requirements for the professional competencies of a future teacher of preschool education.
