Abstract:A crude energy analysis of positive secondary currents (measured on the collecting surfaces) from clean single-crystal targets of tungsten, molybdenum and vanadium, as well as polycrystalline tungsten, indicates that significant proportions of the currents measured result not only from sputtered target ions but also from kinetic electron ejection from the collecting surfaces by scattered incident particles. Some correlation has been achieved with kinetic ejection thresholds calculated according to simple hard-… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
