“…Similar pH trends have been reported by others researchers in WO studies (Lin and Ho, 1997). At 190ºC, the pH decreases continuously during the experiment, revealing that the oxidation mechanism is significantly slower than at 220ºC.…”

“…L'oxydation en voie humide non catalytique biphasique (gaz-liquide) a été comparée à un système triphasique (gaz-liquidesolide) avec des catalyseurs d'oxyde de Meytal and Sheintuch, 1998). Different model compounds such as low molecular weight acids (Shende and Levec, 1999;Gomes et al, 2000), phenolic compounds (Pintar and Levec, 1994) and aldehydes (Silva et al, 2003) have been used in order to understand the process applicability for industrial wastewaters generated in pulp and paper mill effluents (Zhang and Chuang, 1999;Quinta-Ferreira et al, 2001), desizing wastewaters (Lin and Ho, 1997), formalin synthesis, and urea-formaldehyde-resin production (Silva et al, 2003). Nevertheless, very few investigations have reported the wet oxidation process for PVA degradation and, in particular, literature concerning the use of active solid catalysts was not found.…”
