Knockdown of lncRNA FOXD2-AS1 Inhibits Proliferation, Migration, and Drug Resistance of Breast Cancer Cells

Abstract: Objective. In order to investigate the effect of lncRNA FOXD2-AS1 on breast cancer cells proliferation, migration, and drug resistance as well as its molecular mechanism. Methods. Real-time PCR was used to detect the expression of breast cancer tissues and cells from patients admitted to our hospital and the expression of lncRNA FOXD2-AS1 in MCF-7/ADR in adriamycin- (ADR-) resistant breast cancer cells. After interfering with or overexpressing lncRNA FOXD2-AS1 in MCF-7/ADR cells, cell proliferation, apoptosis,… Show more

“…FOXD2-AS1 may promote pancreatic cancer cell invasion and migration by sponging miR-30a-3p, which upregulates COX-2 ( Ye et al, 2022 ). FOXD2-AS1 promotes breast cancer cell proliferation, invasion, migration, and drug resistance by positively regulating the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, inhibits apoptosis, and accelerates breast cancer progression ( Nong et al, 2021 ). We discovered that no relevant literature has reported its role in ccRCC.…”

“…HOTAIR was also reported to reinforce DOX resistance by promoting the phosphorylation of AKT and activating AKT/mTOR signaling pathway in BC ( Li Z. et al, 2019 ). Other lncRNAs implicated in PI3K signaling pathway and DOX resistance included FOXD2-AS1 in BC and DUXAP8 in B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL), further uncovering the central role of PI3K pathway in cancer DOX resistance ( Nong et al, 2021 ; Zhang et al, 2022 ).…”

“…FOXD2-AS1 also down regulated the p-AKT and pPI3K to inhibit the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in BC cells. Furthermore, inhibition of FOXD2-AS1 negatively regulated the growth, aggressiveness, and migration of BC cells while induced apoptosis and chemosensitivity [ 46 ]. There was SOX21-AS1 up regulation in BC tissues that was correlated with tumor stage, grade, metastasis, and clinical outcomes.…”
