“…Kohler's disease is a scarce one involved navicular in the foot (7,8,10,11) . As reported in our 5 years-old patient, typically it appears between 2-10 years old and boys are affected more and later than girls (7,10,12,13) . As these epidemiological data supported, KD is likely related with the ossification of tarsal navicular that is terminated 18-24 months of age in girls and 30-36 months of age in boys (7,10,12,14) .…”

“…The treatment of KD is conservative with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, rest and avoidance of weight-bearing provided by short leg walking cast, crutches, arch supports, controlled ankle motion (CAM) boots (3,7,11,15) . The symptoms completely resolve within six weeks to 18 months, but our patient completely recovered within the shorter time period (7,12,13) . Although the duration of symptoms is related with the type and length of therapy, the long-term prognosis is independently favorable (10,12,13) .…”

“…The bony changes like sclerosis, irregular border, and hyper-dense bone can be visualized on radiographic imaging [ 4 , 6 , 8 ]. The disease management includes symptomatic treatment and a short leg cast as per requirement [ 1 , 3 , 6 , 9 ].…”

“…Importantly, MWD does not represent persistence of Kohler's disease which is self-limiting and completely resolves in childhood with no long-term radiological sequelae. 3 In the largest series of MWD, Maceira et al studied the epidemiology of the disease and noted that it particularly affected patients who had lived under stressful environmental conditions such as war or poverty. They also commented that most of the literature on MWD came from Europe and postulated that its low prevalence in the United States might be explained by the absence of such stressful environmental pre-disposing factors.…”
