Fokus utama kajian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan pandangan dan persepsi daripada masyarakat Melayu Sarawak terhadap kepercayaan penyembahan Datuk Kong yang diamalkan oleh masyarakat Cina tempatan, khususnya di Kampung Buntal, Kuching. Secara umumnya diketahui sebagaimana masyarakat Melayu secara dominan menganut agama Islam secara tidak langsung mempengaruhi nilai, pandangan dan perspektif mereka terhadap perkara sedemikian. Oleh itu, kajian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan buah fikiran yang mendalam terhadap bagaimana masyarakat Melayu Sarawak khususnya di Kuching berhadapan dengan kepercayaan sedemikian dan pandangan terhadap kewujudan penyembahan semangat Datuk Kong. Data empirikal dikumpulkan melalui pemerhatian dan temu bual bersama penduduk direkodkan, ditranskripsikan dan dianalisis. Dapatan kajian telah mendapati terdapat dua golongan masyarakat Melayu yang berlainan pendapat terhadap kepercayaan Datuk Kong.

Abstract: Rimba sinkretis is a set of teachings and beliefs in the Jambi indigenous community, which shows a mixture of elements or understandings with other religions (Islam), which is revealed to be a belief. The ethnographic approach is known to be suitable for elemental and cultural studies. This study reveals three crucial topics: First, there isa meeting point of local religion with Islam which is believed to have been mixed since the syncretic decades through the common teachings and beliefs of one god (monotheism). Second, the meeting point of beliefs that have spiritual similarities to Islam, both in religious expressions and prayers to God, includes Lâ Ilâha Illallâh, Muhammad Rasûlullah, Bismillâh, Salamikum, Allâh Akbar, and Yâ Allâh, so that it does not conflict with their teachings as Muslims. Third, the beliefs of the Orang Rimba community in an almighty God named Allah Ta‘ala, the two prophets named Adam and Muhammad, malakat orang meru as the unseen (spirits), bilik (heaven) and nereko (hell) as places of torment for doso (sin) and pahalo (goodness), baheulo (gods) as jinn and demons, balik ke henteu as the afterlife, Halam Robah as the day of judgment and the orang bek kebudi as good and pious people (ulama). Keywords: Rimba Sinkretis, intersection of Islamic spirituality, local religion, indigenous people Abstrak: Rimba sinkretis adalah seperangkat ajaran dan kepercayaan dalam masyarakat adat Jambi yang menunjukkan adanya percampuran unsur atau paham dengan agama lain (Islam) yang diturunkan menjadi suatu kepercayaan. Pendekatan etnografi dikenal cocok untuk studi kepercayaan dan kebudayaan. Kajian ini mengungkap tiga topik krusial: Pertama, adanya titik temu antara agama lokal dengan Islam yang diyakini telah bercampur sejak lama dengan istilah sinkretis melalui kesamaan ajaran dan kepercayaan satu tuhan (monoteisme). Kedua, titik temu keyakinan yang memiliki kesamaan spiritualitas dengan Islam, baik dalam ekspresi keagamaan maupun segi pemanjatan kepada Tuhan, seperti Lâ Ilâha Illallâh, Muhammad Rasûlullah, Bismillâh, Salamikum, Allâh Akbar, dan Yâ Allâh, sehingga tidak bertentangan dengan keyakinan ajaran orang rimba ketika sebagai muslim. Ketiga, kepercayaan Orang Rimba terdapat kesamaan spritualitas terhadap Tuhan Yang Maha Esa bernama Allah Ta‘ala, dua nabi bernama Adam dan Muhammad, Mengenal malakat orang meru sebagai malaikat yang gaib (roh), Adanya bilik sebagai (surga) dan nereko (neraka) sebagai tempat siksaan. Perilaku buruk dicatat sebagai doso (dosa) dan pahalo (kebaikan), keberadaan baheulo (dewa) sebagai jin dan setan, penamaan balik ke heteu sebagai akhirat, kepercayaan atas halam robah sebagai hari penghakiman dan orang bek kebudi sebagai orang baik dan saleh (ulama). In the new global discourse tolerance has become a central issue for in various countries. These findings have significant implications for the understanding of how learning strategies in teaching tolerance in the Qur'an Surat al-Kafirun. In addition, forms of learning strategies to strengthen diversity. Different methods have been proposed to classify tolerance. This study uses a qualitative approach, with the type of case studies, data collection techniques with document analysis. This research approach uses phenomenology, research methods namely qualitative. In this study, case study was identified as Indonesian high school education. As for the results of the study showed two forms of tolerance strategies, namely dialogical tolerance and tolerance of the beliefs of others. While the form of tolerance through religiosity education which includes: grateful for diversity and awareness of diversity; to live according to the basic values and basic traditions of school philosophy; Forms of learning carried out by implementing the religiosity education program; active, interactive and dialogic learning.
