Koordinationspolymeres Tetramethyldiphosphan‐quecksilber(II)‐chlorid

“…Equilibrium HONO ⇌ NO + . As shown by Seel and Winkler, HONO behaves like a triphenylcarbinol base. Accordingly, in solutions with high acidity the establishment of equilibrium 14 occurs: The corresponding equilibrium constant K is defined by and can be calculated from the intercept of the straight line obtained from a plot of the logarithm of [HONO l ]/[NO + l ] versus H R according to eq 16: H R is the experimental acidity function, which has to be used instead of the pH scale since acid solutions of high concentration have to be treated as nonideal.…”

“…Becker et al 34 published a lower value of 1.2 × 10 −8 at 25°C in close agreement with 1.4 × 10 −8 from the earlier work by Seel and Winkler. 35 Extending the same approach to 25°C with the more consistent value by Becker, a diffusion limit for Snitrosation of k 7f = 1.7 M −2 ·s −1 is obtained for neutral substrates at acidities close to 1 M perchloric acid. Observed kinetic rate constants for such substrates exceed this value by several orders of magnitude.…”

“…Nitrous acid is half-protonated at ∼58% H 2 SO 4 [13][14][15][16][17] and is converted into NO + by a protonation-dehydration equilibrium (HONO+H + NO + +H 2 O). In the range between 65 and 80 wt.% H 2 SO 4 , where HNO 2 is almost fully converted into NO + , the ratios [PhC(OH)CH 3 ] + /[PhCOCH 3 ] appear to be the main factors affecting the results.…”
