“…The status of type material for Australian Auchenorrhyncha species described by GW Kirkaldy has been discussed by Medler (1987) and Day & Fletcher (1994). Jacobi (1921, 1928) described two new Australian aphrophorid species and the Jacobi types are deposited in NRS and SMTD, respectively (see Emmrich 1974). One of the more significant early contributions to the knowledge of Australian Aphrophoridae was by Hacker (1926) who described seven of the species covered by Evans (1966), but who failed to designate holotypes for these seven species.…”

“…Lallemand (1949 redescribed the genus, synonymized the monotypic genus Trimerophrys Jacobi, 1921 with Augustohahnia and moved Trimerophrys binotata Jacobi, 1921 (New Guinea) to Augustohahnia. Lallemand (1949) also provided a key to separate A. barbata Schmidt, 1920 and A. binotata (Jacobi, 1921). Since then, the genus and its two included species have never been reported in the literature, except in Metcalf's (1961) catalogue of the world Cercopidae.…”
