Abstract: Brytyjskie studia kulturowe przyjęły instytucjonalną formę (w 1964 r. otwarto Center for Contemporary Cultural Studies na Uniwersytecie w Birmingham) niemal w tym samym okresie, gdy badania nad filmem wypracowywały swój akademicki program.
