Mindfulness has been widely studied and applied in the context of healthcare, psychological well-being, and human flourishing, however tourism research has begun to delve into how mindfulness is constructed and its effectiveness in tourism from the COVID-19 pandemic, when mindfulness was one of the most popular techniques used to combat moments of stress and uncertainty. This chapter studies the enhancement power in the experience of full attention (mindfulness) in tourists and the conscious shift towards psychological well-being and sustainable behavior. It is achieved by creating a memorable tourist experience (MTE) and designing a special guided tour that includes mindfulness dynamics that connect breath, nature, art, heritage, and landscape. Results show that mindful travel and the mindful tourist drive the fundamental change in the post-pandemic global tourism industry, impacting tourism holistically: well-being, mental health, human flourishing, and sustainability.
