In Europe it is distributed in the Ardenne region of Belgium (Stroot, 1984), Luxembourg (Stroot, 1984), the Jura mountains along the French-Swiss border (Verneaux, 1972), the Bavarian Alps of southern Germany (Klima, 1994), Austria (Malicky, 1999), Hungary (Norgradi, 1985, southern Poland (the Bieszady mountains, eastern Carpathians) (B. Szczesny, personal communication, 2001) and in the Ukraine (B. Szczesny, personal communication, 2001), at altitudes between 300 and 500 m. This species is also found in Fennoscandia, where it reaches high latitudes (Gullefors, 1988;Aagaard and Dolmen, 1996;Laasonen et al, 1998). Its southerly limit appears to coincide with the southern boundary of the boreal forest zone, the 'limes norrlandicus'.…”
