“…Furthermore, due to the microdimensions, cells and particles tend to transit through these devices at a relatively high velocity. [8][9][10] Most of the smartphones are equipped with a high-end specification camera that supports the device as a platform for optic-based equipment such as spectrometry, [11] colorimetric, [12,13] fluorescence, and luminescence detection. However, these equipment is bulky and expensive which limits the practical application of microfluidics for real-time point-of-care detection, especially in the low resource settings.…”

“…[6,7] As the smartphones are increasingly affordable with exponentially powerful processors, their usage for lab on a phone has emerged as an attractive option. [8][9][10] Most of the smartphones are equipped with a high-end specification camera that supports the device as a platform for optic-based equipment such as spectrometry, [11] colorimetric, [12,13] fluorescence, and luminescence detection. [14][15][16][17] The smartphone camera also allows for multiple optical zooms that favor the image capture and analysis for mobile microscopy application.…”

“…Here, inspired by our previous studies (Lodha et al, 2014(Lodha et al, , 2013Ansari et al, 2015) and literature reports, we used green approach to synthesize AgNPs for determination of cystine and studied its correlation with time since death, as one of the realistic approaches in forensic science as well as in clinical diagnosis. At the same time we utilized the smartphone as a smart approach for determination of cystine, as smartphones equipped with a highresolution digital camera have become almost omnipresent in society which can be used to produce an image very conveniently.…”

“…Menon's group reported the use of a smart phone as a portable and cost-effective colorimetric sensor for lidocaine hydrochloride determination in the range of 0.1-4.5 ng/ml in blood and vitreous humor samples. Using the citrated capped AgNPs probe as the aggregation of AgNPs occur rapidly in the presence of lidocaine due to the electrostatic and hydrogen-bonding interaction between them which results in color change from yellow to red [30].…”
