The increasing number of Jakarta Special Province residents further increased the amount of land required for daily usages. In order to maintain and improve the economy, agricultural land-use continued to be converted into non-agricultural land-use. The reduced amount of agricultural land-use was able to increase the population pressure on said land, surpassing the land carrying capability. Analyzing the remaining land resources of Jakarta Special Province aimed to understand the changes in land-use, land carrying capability, the scale of land resources, and to determine the population pressure of the residents of Jakarta Special Province. The methods used in this analysis was to use secondary data, presented in the form of tables, graphs, and maps, as well as quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. In general, Jakarta Special Province had experienced a conversion of agricultural land-use into non-agricultural land-use (e.g. residential and industrial) between the year 2010 to 2018. The number of residents had exceeded the carrying capacity of Jakarta’s land. This resulted from a growing need for non-agricultural land as well as the amount of population pressure, causing the unmet settlement needs.

This study aims to determine the pattern of strengthening social capital in increasing agricultural productivity in Tridana Mulya Village. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation. In this study, 19 rice farmers were used as informants. The results showed that the strategy of strengthening the social capital of rice farmers in increasing agricultural productivity in Tridhana Mulya Village included mutual trust and cooperation. The mutual trust of rice farmers in Tridhana Mulya Village is in the form of providing agricultural business capital, increasing the work ethic of rice farmers, increasing farmers' tenacity in farming, and allocation of working hours by farmers. While strengthening social capital through cooperation, namely cooperation in maintaining facilities and infrastructure, cooperation in working on rice fields and the use of livestock manure for fertilizer, cooperation in maintaining agricultural hygiene, and cooperation in maintaining the cleanliness of agricultural irrigation.

Land is an abiotic component that plays a role in providing space for human activity. Land utilization and land use will always be related to population development. If the population continues to grow, the need for land will continue to increase which means the population pressure on the land will also increase, while the land has limited properties. Nusa Tenggara Timur province is a province that has a population of about 4.3 million people with a total area of approximately 4.9 million hectares of which 1.7 million hectares are forests. This research is conducted with the aim of knowing and analyzing land-based resource balance of land resources in the province of East Nusa Tenggara so that it can be concluded about the supporting power of land in East Nusa Tenggara province. The balance of land resources in 2007-2012 and 2013-2017 showed that there was a reduction in an agricultural land area of 11,162 Ha, while non-agricultural land increased by 9,962 Ha. Agricultural land is reduced in the form of plantation land, while the increase in the field of rice fields, moor, and fields. The support of East Nusa Tenggara province has decreased by 0.01 annually due to increasing population. Urban areas such as Kupang City have a lower value for land capacity (DDL) than rural areas.
