The article deals with the analysis of the linguistic and cultural adaptation of the English language and the American English as a means of global communication in a multicultural community. The aim of the research is to conduct a comprehensive language and cultural analysis of borrowed units from British English and American English into the autochthonous languages of Pashto and Dari, functioning on the territory of Afghanistan, to determine their lexical and phonetic changes in the process of intercultural adaptation. The complex nature of the linguistic and cultural adaptation of Anglicisms in the autochthonous languages of Afghanistan is due to the long process of military operations, on the one hand, and the need to focus on cooperation with European countries at the present stage of development, on the other hand. The specificity of lexical units borrowed from British English and American English, formed under the influence of globalization and the needs of modern Afghan society, is also associated with phonetic changes and linguistic and cultural adaptation of borrowed units which is dictated by the influence of the phonetic system of local languages. The research work is carried out in line with the language and cultural approach and is based on the use of linguistic, cultural and sociological methods. The research uses the methodology of content analysis, narrative analysis, and the method of linguistic reconstruction of culture. As a result of the work, the spheres of social life of Afghans are identified for productive functioning spheres of high-frequency borrowings from English and American English into modern languages of Afghanistan, this process is dictated by the influence of extra linguistic factors, the key of which is economic development and political cooperation in the period of globalization of the world community. Borrowed lexical units are the subject to phonetic and lexical transformation processes which is dictated by the specifics of the autochthonous languages majority Pashto and Dari.

The complex nature of historical and cultural heritage and the need for economic development contributed to the increasing role of the English language and predetermined the complex nature of multilingualism in modern Afghanistan. The English language in Afghanistan does not have an official status, but plays a significant role in the life of society of all strata. The research work presents an analysis of such a linguistic phenomenon as code switching, which means the need to switch from one language to another in the context of languages’ interaction. The aim of the study is to analyze the role and status of the English language in the higher educational environment and to identify the specifics of the interaction of the English language and the indigenous languages of Afghanistan, Pashto and Dari, in the learning process. The research work was carried out in line with sociolinguistics, which implies the analysis of linguistic phenomena depending on social groups. The work is based on a comprehensive research methodology, including the achievement of results using general scientific and private linguistic methods. The methods being used are the analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction; the triangulation method was used to assess the reliability of the work, the method of sociolinguistic commentary is used as the basis to identify the specifics of code switching in a complex linguistic and socio-cultural situation in Afghanistan. The work also used the method of case study, which includes a structured analysis of interviews with communicants followed by a description of certain phenomena and the method of quantitative analysis to calculate the productivity of these phenomena. Such a method as an interview was used by us to obtain the data collection of participants. As a result of the research work, it was found that the process of switching codes is used by teachers to easily assimilate information, explain complex material, and create a favorable atmosphere.
The research work is devoted to the analysis of the English language variability specific characteristics in the context of modern community globalization process. The research proves that the English language variant, adapting to the realities of local languages and cultures, acquires new sociolinguistic properties. The aim of the study is to identify the specifics of such a variant of the English language as the South African English which was formed during the contact interaction of the British English language and the autochthonous languages and cultures of South Africa. The key properties of the South African English are revealed on the basis of methods groups: analysis and synthesis; comparative analysis; and the method of component analysis. The key attention is paid to the historical process formation of South African English and to the development of the English language and its role in the life of South Africa. The complex nature of long-term historical inter language and intercultural interaction has led to the formation of a heterogeneous structure of South African society, is which is presented by Europeans, numerous local peoples, Indians and their descendants living on the same territory. The complex differentiation of South African society has defined a unique variety of languages, dialects, and sociolects, among which English has a special social prestige and unites all other languages. Having a multicomponent structure, sociolinguistic differentiation of South African society contributed to the emergence and functioning a series of South African English variants types in one territory. These types are: Black South African English, White South African English, Coloured South African English. The English language of each sociolinguistic group has unique features that manifest themselves to a greater extent at the phonetic level.
