“…Sleeve gastrectomy probably should be avoided if the indications for reversal are severe malnutrition or TPN dependence. If gastric bypass reversal is being considered for severe malnutrition or weight loss, or intractable nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain with eating, consideration may be given to placing a gastrostomy tube in the excluded stomach [15] to determine if patients tolerate enteral feeding via this route and if they would in fact benefit from reversal of the gastric bypass.…”
