Abstract:With zero mortality and low morbidity, bariatric surgery performed for adequately selected patients is the most effective therapeutic intervention for weight loss and subsequent amelioration or resolution of comorbidities. The patient's eating habits before surgery play an important role in the choice of the operative technique used.
“…Revisional bariatric operations may be performed laparoscopically [248][249][250] or via open technique [251,252]. Complications are more common after reoperations than after primary bariatric procedures [253].…”

“…It is possible that consuming a large amount of food in a relatively short time may induce the enlargement of gastric tube. In restrictive procedures, patients are strongly encouraged to follow dietary guidelines to reduce the incidence of vomiting [25,26]. In animals, the post implant feeding pattern is probably an important factor that influences vomiting, esophageal reflux, or tube dilation.…”
Our results validate the feasibility of a reversible gastric restriction implant in a non-obese canine model, with the potential for achieving significant weight loss within 6 weeks and with no injury to the gastric wall.
“…En cuanto a variables psicosociales, los estudios informan resultados a corto plazo, destacando mejorías significativas en la calidad de vida (CV) principalmente en factores tales como mayor movilidad y mejoría de las comorbilidades médicas [1][2][3] . Algunos estudios agrupan a pacientes con tiempos postoperatorios de tan amplio rango, que dificulta la comparación entre ellos [4][5][6] .…”
