“…The effective moments of Eu 2+ obtained in a usual manner (μ eff = 3k B •C nμ B ) are 7.77 μ B (H a) and 8.57 μ B (H c) respectively, which are quite reasonable given that the theoretical value is 7.94 μ B for Eu 2+ (4 f 7 ). The obtained effective moments along the c axis (easy axis here) is a little bit larger than the theoretical one, and similar results were also seen in the previously reported works (e.g., EuMnSb 2 , 8.0 μ B [43]; EuMnBi 2 , 8.1 μ B [39]). One possible explanation for this is a non-negligible Curie-Weiss contribution from the Mn moments since they may not be completely saturated in this temperature regime.…”

“…3(a) inset]. The resistivity is similar to that of AZnSb 2 (A = Ba and Sr) and EuZnBi 2 , but is in contrast to semiconducting EuMnSb 2 [60][61][62]. Since MR is determined by the extremal cross section of the Fermi surface perpendicular to the magnetic field direction, information about geometric structure of Fermi surface can be obtained from the angular dependence of MR. As shown in Fig.…”

“…with the associated basis vectors listed in Table I (the Miller and Love notation is adopted 38 ). In both cases, the irreps which describe the ferromagnetic sublattices with moments along x, y and z, namely Γ + 3 , Γ + 4 and Γ + 2 , can be excluded by the bulk magnetization 20 . We consider all of the remaining irreps for the Eu and Mn sublattices systematically and discuss the magnetism on each in turn.…”
