Laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy of various carbon nanostructures (GO, G and nanodiamond) in Rd6G solution

Abstract: Abstract:The effect of carbon nanostructures such as graphene (G), graphene oxide (GO) and nanodiamond (ND) on the spectral properties of Rhodamine 6G (Rd6G) emission due to the laser induced fluorescence (LIF) was investigated. It is shown that the addition of carbon nanostructures lead to sensible Red/Blue shifts which depend on the optical properties and surface functionality of nanoparticles. The current theories such as resonance energy transfer (RET), fluorescence quenching and photon propagation in scat… Show more

“…In this way, the interplay between the Stokes shift and overlapping area are exhibited in a definitive way. Figures 2(a), 2(c) and 2(e) illustrate the emissive wavelengths in terms of concentrations where the red shift usually realizes as a function of fluorescence concentration [17]. Similarly, the emissive wavelengths follow an initial rise due to the reabsorption events and then exhibit a plateau at higher fluorophore concentrations.…”

“…The nature of the short penetration depth at 405nm, as well as the relatively small overlapping region between the C7 absorption and the fluorescence emissions, intensify this result. On the other hand, the absorption coefficient of the Rd6G is lucidly large at 532 nm [13,16], thus the photons undergo more reabsorption events, leading to a sensible red shift, in comparison.…”

“…The formation of the numerous micro-cavities is initiated at the onset of the abnormal cell proliferation due to the structural alteration of tubular architecture [38]. The latter resembles to induce the micro-partitioning effect [16,32]. Here, the micropartitioning architecture of the cancerous scaffold slows down the aggregation events such that the micro-cavities do trap further fluorophore molecules.…”
