LC‐ESI‐MS/MS Chemical Characterization, Antioxidant and Antidiabetic Properties of Propolis Extracted with Organic Solvents from Eastern Anatolia Region

Abstract: Geographic conditions (altitude, climate, and local flora) lead to significant differences in the chemical composition of propolis. Therefore, more research is needed for propolis in different geographical regions. So, the aim of this study was to evaluate the phenolic profile, total phenolic content, antioxidant, and antidiabetic properties of Pülümür propolis from Turkey. Methanol (MeOH), chloroform (CHCl3), and hexane extracts of propolis were analyzed. LC‐ESI‐MS/MS analysis of the extracts showed that the … Show more

“…The column oven was set to 30 °C, the solvent flow rate was 0.7 mL/min and the analysis lasted for 34 min. The following are the criteria for the MS/MS analysis: Temperatures of the capillary are 300 °C, the vaporizer is 350 °C, the sheat gas pressure is 30 Arb, the aux gas pressure is 13 Arb, the positive and negative polarities are 2500 V and 4 µA, respectively 31 , 32 .…”

“…Octadecylsilane-Hypersil 4.6*250 mm column was used. The MS/MS analysis conditions are as follows: capillary temperature, 300 °C; vaporizer temperature, 350 °C; sheath gas pressure, 30 Arb; Aux gas pressure, 13 Arb; positive polarity, 2500 V; negative polarity, 2500 V; and discharge current, 4 μA (Akman et al 2023 ; Kayir et al 2023 ). Quantification was evaluated according to MS/MS.…”
