Leakage Current Paths in PV Transformer-Less Single-Phase Inverter Topology and Its Mitigation through PWM for Switching

Abstract: The Photovoltaic (PV) is a part and parcel and well known for cost-effective and easy to operatefeatures when it is used with transformer-less inverterbased grid-tied distribution generation systems. It reduces the leakage current issue that actually occurs making paths from PV penal to ground. In this paper has been addressed this issue as main problem for reducing leakage current. Moreover, here iscompared the proposed topology's results to AC and DC-based transformer-less topologies. The possibilities of la… Show more

“…Moreover, government support is increased enormously day by day in Australia for using solar panel for household applications [2]. Solar panels are also known as modules that actually contain with photovoltaic panel which is made from silicon and in addition it transforms electricity from the sunlight rather than heat [3][4][5]. In historical point of view, PV panel first discovered by France scientist Edmond Becquerel in 1939 and after 15 years the American scientists Daryl Chapin, Calvin Fuller, and Gerald Pearson were developed the silicon photovoltaic (PV) cell.…”

“…To generate the electricity the most uses sources are coal, oil and natural gas where these sources actually the main causes pollution our environment [1] as well as those source are diminishing rapidly. To make our environment friendly, today's most important energy is renewable energy such as hydro, solar, wind, bio-mass and so on [2][3][4].…”

“…The Photovoltaic (PV) panel is becoming a very part and parcel due to electricity production. PV system to produce electricity needs inverter which is establishing interfaces between the PV-panels and the utility-grid for decreasing the cost and reducing power loss [1,5]. The most solar-to-grid connections in the single-phase inverters which are followed by single-phase transformer.…”

“…For transmission to far-off places, in majority of cases, it needs be converted into AC for getting it tied to AC grid using inverters. Reduced cost of inverters is sure to result into having a boom of solar panels replacing nuclear power generation associated with the risks plant of disasters recently happened in Japan [5]. Moreover, solar panels have been effective for electricity generation used in powering up of an Oxyhydrogen (HHO) generator is used in the combustion chamber of vehicles engine for boosting its fuel mixture and reducing fuel's consumption [6].…”
