“…Iablokoff- Khnzorian (1985), in an important paper on Palaearctic 'Pythidae' , defines the family in a very broad sense to include the subfamilies Borinae, Pogonocerinae, Pythinae, Rhinosiminae (=Salpinginae), Cononotinae, Lacconotinae and Mycterinae. Thus, his 'Pythidae' is approximately equivalent to the Salpingid group as recognized here, plus Mycteridae (including Lacconotinae) and Cononotinae.…”
