The development of computers and information technology today has influenced each individual's work patterns and activities in education, especially in the teaching-learning process. This study aimed to find out the effectiveness of an intervention using ELITA to enhance the academic writing of college students. ELITA is a learning management system that Universitas Tidar uses. It tries to reveal whether there is any effect on the writing ability of the students taught using ELITA media. This study was quantitative research. The sample of this research was 32 students in the English study program at Universitas Tidar. Between the study's beginning and end, they were given two months of treatment. It can be seen in the result of the paired sample t-test that the t-observed (6.038) was higher than the t-table (1.697). The t-test showed that the p-value (Sig.) was 0.000, the significance level was 5%, and the degree of freedom was 31. Therefore, the results showed that there was a significant effect on the writing ability of the students taught using ELITA. The use of ELITA media can be alternative media to support the student's practice writings.

Teaching vocabulary presents a significant challenge in foreign language instruction. This article discusses the advantages that the results obtained in studies on lexical availability offer for foreign language teaching. The methodology of lexical availability, which involves extracting vocabulary that is closely associated with specific lexical categories, was first developed in France in the 1950s, and since then, it has been predominantly used for teaching Spanish as a first language. More recently, in the past 15 years, it has also been employed for teaching Spanish as a foreign language. This article examines the origins and methodology of lexical availability, with a particular focus on two significant applications related to teaching Spanish as a foreign language. From a cognitive standpoint, the article discusses studies analysing the configuration of the mental lexicon using available vocabulary data. From a didactic perspective, the article explores how lexical availability can be used to improve the selection of vocabulary in teaching materials for Spanish as a foreign language.

In recent years, a considerable body of empirical research has acknowledged the role of self-regulated learning (henceforth SRL) in the domain of English as a foreign language (EFL). However, the study investigating the role and mechanism of SRL in vocabulary learning is still in scarcity particularly in Indonesian contexts. To address this noticeable gap, this multi-case study aims to explore the role of SRL on vocabulary learning strategies use and mechanism from the experience of undergraduate EFL learners. After signing the informed of consent form sheets, two undergraduate students from two different countries (Indonesia and Egypt) voluntarily participate in this study. By employing a series of semi-structured interviews and conducting narrative thematic analysis (Braun Clarke, 2006), the findings showcase that both participants employ a myriad of vocabulary learning strategies such as rehearsal, elaboration, and social strategy. Additionally, the empirical evidence indicates that they have higher level of motivation and persistence to maintain vocabulary-learning activity. The findings suggest the important practical implications for teachers, learners, and institution. This article also discusses limitations and recommendations.
