List decoding with statistical check for semi‐random block‐oriented convolutional code

Abstract: In this Letter, a list decoding algorithm is proposed for the semi-random block-oriented convolutional code (SRBO-CC). To decode each sub-frame, a list of candidates are serially computed until finding a qualified one or achieving maximum list, where the correctness of the decoding candidate is checked by a statistical threshold. Simulation results show that SRBO-CC with list decoding is competitive with polar codes and that the performance-complexity tradeoffs can be achieved by adjusting the statistical thre… Show more

“…Therefore, the comprehensive quality of students in the universities is almost at the same level. Stratified and random sampling methods are used in the survey to ensure the rationality of the data (McConnachie et al, 2018;Lin et al, 2019). Stratified sampling is mainly used to select a certain number of samples in different grades of different universities, while random sampling is used to pick up survey samples of different genders, ages, and majors.…”

“…The key is then to find an easily computable statistic for testing the difference. Based on the similar methodology, a list decoding algorithm based on statistical threshold is proposed for semi‐random block‐oriented convolutional code in [5].…”

“…In our previous work [12], we have presented a coding scheme based on random superposition to pack extra bits into LDPC coded data. Similar to [17], the decoding of the superposition transmission is aided by an off-line statistical learning. The basic idea is to distinguish the case without from that with superposition of extra bits by the statistical behavior of the syndrome.…”
