Abstract:Reinforced concrete (RC) structures dissipate energy when subjected to seismic excitations. Modeling seismic energy dissipations on a rational basis still represents challenging issues. At local scale, dissipative constitutive RC models are developed to take into consideration different phenomena, such as cracks opening, friction, plasticity, and their couplings or rebar bond slip. Practically some of those dissipative mechanisms are modeled by equivalent Rayleigh viscous damping at the global structural level… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
