Localization of the Best Measuring Point for Gearwheel Behaviour Testing Using Group of Adaptive Models Evolution

Abstract: This paper deals with signal processing for vibration analysis of the gear transmission. The main goal was localization of the best measuring point on the gearbox housing, which could provide the highest sensitivity to gearwheels vibration. Vibration measured at some selected points on the gearbox housing was analysed using methods of spectral analysis. The important frequencies in the vibration spectra and a value of their importance were estimated using Group of Adaptive Models Evolution. This work was done … Show more

“…EARS ARE widely used in mechanical manufacturing, and the quality of tooth profiles affects gear vibration and noise [1][2]. The measurement of tooth profiles is a difficult measurement item, and now tooth profiles are usually measured by gear measuring center [3][4][5].…”

“…Localization in both linear and non linear dynamical systems has been studied by many researchers. Samples can be found in [3][4][5][6][7][8]. In a previous study of localization in systems of multiple vibration absorbers, Alsuwaiyan and Shaw [9] investigated the existence of localization in free vibration modes for both translational and torsional vibration absorber systems.…”

“…Besides an estimation of the lifetime, the main aim of the experiment was to discover the influence of the load value forcing on the gear transmission on the vibration exposure of the gears. Paper [2] describes the signal processing method applied in order to analyze the vibrations acquired during this test. This paper evaluates the efficiency that can be achieved by several suitable methods.…”
