Location-Aware Forwarding and Caching in CCN-Based Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

Abstract: SUMMARYContent centric network (CCN) is conceived as a good candidate for a futuristic Internet paradigm due to its simple and robust communication mechanism. By directly applying the CCN paradigm in wireless multihop mobile ad hoc networks, we experience various kind of issues such as packet flooding, data redundancy, packet collisions, and retransmissions etc., due to the broadcast nature of the wireless channel. To cope with the problems, in this study, we propose a novel location-aware forwarding and cachi… Show more

“…The Scenario-based performance evaluation of CCJRF-ICN execution and mathematical analysis of the protocol impart strength to our proposal. In contradiction to the proposed approach, most stateof-the-art research works [14,17,18,19,20,21,22] have contributed separate, isolated, and non-cooperative solutions in the context of routing or caching in ICN. Thus, the in-network caching capability of ICN cannot be fully utilized to reduce data retrieval delay.…”

“…Position-aware forwarding: Rehman and Kim [88] proposes a forwarding mechanism based on the current physical position of the various nodes: consumer, producer and intermediate nodes. Using the position coordinates, the physical distance between the consumer and the producer is calculated and the shortest physical distance is chosen for the forwarding transmission.…”
