Locoregional Chemoradiotherapy of Cancer Using Hydrogel

Abstract: In this chapter, we will demonstrate that in situ hydrogel can be used for local‐regional delivery of chemotherapy and radiotherapy while reducing associated toxicities found with traditional delivery methods. In an attempt to incorporate well‐known slow‐release methodologies for drug delivery with radiotherapy, we highlight our own developed hydrogel that plays two roles in cancer treatment: (1) slow release of chemotherapeutic agents and (2) trapping of therapeutic radionuclides.
