“…In Middle and Eastern Europe, the standards of medical care have improved since 1990. However, overall, the standardized, risk-adapted treatment regimens according to multicenter protocols, for example as developed by the Berlin-Frankfurt-Muenster (BFM)-Study Group for treatment of childhood ALL (ALL IC-BFM 2002 trial [2]), is not yet a routine approach for the management of AML in Middle or Eastern Europe.
