“…Our research confirms that linguistic clues in job reviews provide valuable insights through both writing style and the presence of discrete negative emotion words. Building on the insights of Lam et al (2022), it is evident that negative emotion words in job reviews can genuinely signal company culture issues. For example, frequent use of words such as "toxic," "hostile" or "stressful" indicates a less-than-ideal workplace environment, pointing to the need for cultural improvements.…”
