“…All extinct decapod crustaceans on record to date from Istria are brachyurans, and the majority comprise species of the genera Harpactocarcinus A. Milne-Edwards, 1862 and Harpactoxanthopsis Via, 1959(see Schweitzer et al 2005. In addition, finds of the raninoidean Lophoranina are common as well (Mikuž 2003). Decapod-rich layers constitute a transitional unit, sandwiched between Nummulites limestones of the carbonate platform and the basinal flysch deposits.…”
