“…Similar to the PL emission characteristic of Eu‐doped FHA in the as‐received state, the PL intensities of Eu‐doped FHA increased with the increasing fluorine concentrations, When the fluorine concentration in the reaction solution was 0.3 mol%, they reached their maximum value, and then decreased with further increasing fluorine concentrations. This significantly enhanced PL was mainly attributed to the achievement of a β‐TCP phase in the HA/β‐TCP system, which can be explained by considering the photoquenching effect of the hydroxyl group (OH) in optical HA/β‐TCP system . The enhanced PL intensities should be mainly due to achievement of the β‐TCP phase in the HA/β‐TCP system, which was also consistent with the XRD results (Figure ).…”

“…This PL characteristic of Eu‐doped FHA was mainly attributed to the different morphology of the Eu‐doped FHA. In other words, the low aspect ratio of particle (spherical or near spherical) morphology is good for high brightness and high resolution because of the high packing density and reduction of light scattering, which offers the possibility of enhancing luminescence . Here the samples changed from long nanowire particles to near spherical particles when the samples were synthesized at pH 10.…”

“…With increasing concentrations of Eu 3+ in Eu/Sr‐HA, the formation of β‐TCP peak intensity increases, whereas the HA phase is affected in the patterns. The presence of HA peaks with β‐TCP may improve the luminescence and osteoconductivity . From the enlarged Figure (b), it is clear that, with an increment in the doping level of Eu 3+ , the diffraction peak of β‐TCP shifts toward lower 2ϴ angle which evidences the doping of minerals in the HA lattice.…”

“…15,16 The morphology of Si-substituted HAp:Eu 3þ changed from the nanowire to spindle with the change of the synthesis methods. 17 In this paper, we have synthesized HAp:Eu 3þ nanorods with uniform morphology on mild solution conditions. The morphology, structure and fluorescent properties of the products were also investigated in detail.…”
