Magnetic characteristics modelling for regular Switched Reluctance Machines: Analytical and FEM approaches

Abstract: In this paper, an analytical approach is used to determine the Flux-linkage characteristic of regular Switched Reluctance Machines (SRMs) considering simple geometry aspects. The proposed method is derived from an 8/6 SRM magnetic characteristic obtained by experimental tests and validated by FEM results. In order to reduce calculation time and expense, regarding simulation and implementation proposes, this analytical functions approach requires only few parameters, normally available or easily measured. An ap… Show more

“…Owing to the double salient structure and the saturation characteristic (Lobato et al , 2009), the SRM shows a nonlinear behavior and the accurate model of the SRM is difficult to establish. The inductance profile is the basis for the control of motors and it has great influence on the performance evaluation (Sun et al , 2016a, 2016b; Shi et al , 2019; Sun et al , 2018a, 2018b; Gan et al , 2016).…”

“…However, the calculation process is too complex. FEM [3,4] is widely accepted by many researchers. However, the geometry parameters and material properties are sometimes difficult to be obtained.…”
